A Life Spent On Every Side Of The Game.
Long before MFH Global Football Agency, Bert Mahecha was living the game from every angle. Here are a few moments from a journey that still drives everything he does for players and families today.
Every Chapter Points Back To The Player.
Bert has played, refereed, coached and owned a club, along with local and national leagues under the Florida State Soccer Association, part of US Soccer. He also holds a US Soccer National C coaching license. Few agents have seen the game from so many sides.
That full-spectrum experience is the foundation MFH Global Football Agency is built on. It is why the right questions get asked early, and why a player and their family always know someone in their corner has already stood where they are standing.
A Few Chapters Along The Way.

It Started On The Field
Long before the license and the boardrooms, Bert was a player. In his younger years he competed at Miami Dade College, learning the game from the inside: the training, the pressure, and the sacrifices a young footballer makes to chase the dream. He has stood exactly where the players he represents stand today, and he has not forgotten what it takes.

Competing At The U-23 Level
Bert went on to play in the American Soccer League at the U-23 level with Deportivo Barranquilla, testing himself against grown, competitive sides. Playing there showed him how young players are stretched as they push toward the professional game, and what real preparation demands. It is knowledge he now puts to work guiding the next generation through the same climb.

Refereeing With The Best
Bert has stood inside the game at its highest levels, here as a referee for Colombia against Peru, sharing the pitch with one of the sport's true legends, Carlos 'El Pibe' Valderrama. Officiating taught him to read a match with total impartiality and to earn the trust of players on both sides. It is the same clear judgment he brings to every family he guides today.

Developing The Next Generation
On the training field with South Florida FC, Bert coached and developed young players, teaching technique, discipline and how to carry themselves on and off the pitch. With a US Soccer National C coaching license, he has spent years turning potential into confident footballers. That developmental eye is how MFH Global Football Agency sees what a player can become, not only what they are today.

President And Commissioner Of The APSL
Bert did not just run a club, he ran the league. As President and Commissioner of the American Premier Soccer League, a USASA-sanctioned competition at level four of the US soccer pyramid, he led a South Florida circuit of member clubs, from Boca Raton FC to South Florida FC. Organizing an entire league gave him a rare view of the game from the top down: how clubs register, how competitions run, and the business behind the badge. It is the same perspective he brings today to guiding and protecting the players and families he represents.

Serving The Game Off The Field
Bert's work in the game reaches into its governance. Through the Florida State Soccer Association, part of US Soccer, he has helped run local and national competitions, from registration and scheduling to the standards that keep the game fair. That view from inside the system is how he knows the right way to move a player through it, and how to protect a family from the wrong turns along the way.

Running His Own Club
Bert took his semi-pro South Florida FC U23 side into the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, the oldest competition in American soccer, where rising players line up against established clubs. Building and running a club showed him exactly what it takes to move players up the ladder, from the logistics behind the scenes to the moments that define a season. It is the operator's view most agents never gain.
His Name On The World Stage
Decades in the game led to a proud moment at the 2026 World Cup: Bert's name mentioned on the broadcast by renowned commentator Luis Omar Tapia during USA against Turkey. It is a reminder that the relationships and reputation he has built reach all the way to football's biggest stage, the same network now working for the players MFH Global Football Agency represents.
